Shown here is the Stainless m40 mess kit.
For carry, I like the m36 gas mask bag. It perfectly holds the set inside.
I also use the Kuksa cups nestled inside.
In the small pocket, I carry a lighter with the meths container. I may put matches as well. I usually tie my ferro rod on the outside.
For the simmer ring, I use a Tatonka stainless steel ring. It also snuffs out the burner.
For the strainer, this is brand new for me, so I haven't used it yet, but looks like it will be great. It is made by wildcrafts.co.uk .
The leather strap is used if I want to lash the kit onto something, but I rarely use it. You can also use the same straps that the Swiss use to lash there mess kits on as it is the same width/length.
