I have done this project with second and third grade and they love doing it! To tie it off, you can either just tuck a long yarn tail behind your weaving, tape it down under there, or tie a little knot. If you have a needle, you could weave it through the middle some and cut it. But honestly, we usually just tuck it under the back and call it a day.
The template I made has the #s spaced about 2 3/4” apart. Mine are not exact. As long as you end in an odd # it will work.
Teachers! I made another video to support this one just for you. I touch on how I've facilitated the lesson and some tips for kiddos with disabilities who struggle with weaving. Check it out if you want to know more!
