In this reflection, I move beyond shock and anger over the murder of Charlie Kirk to ask: what good can possibly come from this tragedy? I examine what it means to defend tradition, the danger of rushing toward “progress,” and how spiritual foundations may ultimately matter more than political victories.
Change imposed aggressively and immediately—especially when driven by ideological extremes—inevitably leads to instability and violence. True moral improvement and societal virtue require patience, voluntary choice, and steady, cumulative effort. The spiritual dimension—faith, inner conviction—is more durable and meaningful than winning political debates or rushing to reform. Without that foundation, even victories are fragile, and souls are at risk.
