MEAN STREET MEMORIES: No DQ, Matthews VS Voodoo. Part 1

Part 1 of 3.

"the Enigma" Damon Matthews in a no DQ contest with Voodoo for the Riot City Wrestling Championship at Powertrip in 2007, Karradinga Sports and Rec Center.

This is the second of a series of two in which Matthews originally beat and then tied up and caned Voodoo who had woe a lottery to get the title shot. RCW Comissioner Andy Cruise granted Voodoo, a rookie at the time, a rematch for the title and made it no DQ allowing the men to have it out.

This is the match that postponed the 16th month title run of the "Enigma" Damon Matthews, in this match Matthews hit a Swanton/Enigma bomb from the top rope to the floor and Voodoo who is knocked out on a section of hire fence... as far as I am aware this is the point in the match where Matthews breaks his leg.

But, incredibly, Damon continues the match. It is obvious his leg is hurting him as he gets back in the ring and continues the match but soon he goes down and the leg seems pretty useless from then on.
Matthews was out there for 15 minutes plus with a broken ankle (7:10 match and in total 15:47 with run ins and promos) and he not only finishes the match but gives and takes moves one of which being the brutal Cannibal Destroyer from the second ropes and into two well placed chairs.
*Also, during the run ins at the end Mimic stomps him from assaulting Voodoo and gives Damon a Sega-Mega-Driver (Tiger-Driver).

"In RCW, titles are not given... they are earned"
Although he would go on to be the first champion striped of the RCW title due to being unable to defend it, it would not be the Enigma's last "first" in RCW.
Month later in 2008, the "Enigma" Damon MAtthews became the first ever TWO time RCW champion!
