As long as we continue to live on this planet earth, at one time we will come face to face with a tough situation that we don't know what do next. There are times of trials and testing. Times of sorrows and bereavement, times of fear and doubts, times of hopelessness when everything seems to fall apart and we cannot find a way out.
Discouragement, Depression, Despondent and Dejection are words that describes the great tragedy that David and his soldiers faced when they returned back to "home sweet home!".Their enemies Amalekites had attacked their city Ziklag, burned it with fire and carried away their wives, children and properties. The men raised up their voices and wept until they had no more strength and tears to shed. BUT DAVID ENCOURAGED HIMSELF IN THE LORD HIS GOD.
Discouragement my friend, if not dealt with, it can robe your peace, joy, sleep, faith, and paralize your Christian walk and testimony. Discouragement can damage us mentally, physically and even spiritually. The solution is:
1. Don't waste your time and energy feeling sorry for yourself, grumbling and complaining. Do something about it.
2. Like David, be your own hero and look for a solution. That is the only way you will change your condition.
3. Understand that whatever happens, only happens by God's permission and He is able to turn evil to fulfill His purpose (Rom.8:28).
4. Always remember, Never, Never, Never, Give Up! For God's power is displayed even in our weaknesses. There's sufficient Grace to see us through whatever may be weighing you down (2nd Cor.12:9). Be strong in the Lord.
