Today I gave my 2001 Jeep Cherokee XJ, aka Penny, a little facelift with what I’m calling “The Landlord Special.” I went through and undercoated the Jeep to help protect it from future rust, hit some of the body rust spots with fresh paint, and even cleaned up and painted the valve cover to make the engine bay pop a little more. It’s not a full restoration by any means, but it’s a budget-friendly way to keep Penny looking halfway decent while holding back the rust monster.
