Class 800's is a Bi-mode multiple train unit which is operated on 25kv AC power between London Paddington and Swindon which then continues as diesel to Bristol Temple Meads.

Class 800's operate on the Great Western Mainline between London Paddington and Swansea which they branch off to: Bedwyn, Hereford via Oxford, Cheltenham Spa, Bristol Temple Meads via Bath Spa and may operate to the South West as far as Plymouth. Services operating beyond Plymouth towards Penzance are operated by Class 802's due to the larger fuel tanks on the train where the route operates on the larger un-electrified sections in Devon and Cornwall.
