Over the Easter long weekend in 2009, the Lachlan Valley Railway ran a series of steam hauled trips out of their operational base in Cowra in the central west of NSW featuring steam locomotives 3237 and 5917.
The first video in this series features the Cowra - Koorawatha leg of the double header to Harden (on the main southern line) and return on Saturday 11 April 2009.
The action begins with scenes of the train being shunted around the yards at Cowra. Once the train departs Cowra, the video shows the run past the roundhouse and then across the impressive Lachlan River bridge. The train then passes the silo at Wattamondara before climbing into the former station area at Koorawatha.
This video was previously uploaded in 480p in the early days of my channel ( • Avalon Airshow Trains - 14 & 15 March 2009... ). The original was shot in high definition, but I've now had the opportunity to re-upload it in HD.
