Thundering Over Eardington Bank: Severn Valley Railway Autumn Steam Gala - 2025

This is one of the best films I’ve ever made!

A short trip to the Severn Valley Railway for the Autumn Steam Gala. With the price of coal increasing dramatically over recent years, steam galas have become increasingly rare. However, this didn’t deter the Severn Valley Railway from hosting an intensive autumn steam gala. It was the first major event along the entire line since the landslide repairs at Hay Bridge were completed. Visitors included 35006 Peninsular and Oriental, 73082 Camelot, NCB 49, LMS Jinty 47928, GWR 813 as NCB 11, GWR 1450, GWR 7714, BR Standard 75069, and 7802 Bradley Manor. 4930 Hagley Hall and LMS 13268 also operated, but did not feature in this video, as they were on night trains only. The railway ran a 60-hour non-stop timetable, with various night trains, some of which are featured. Unfortunately, operational issues caused delays of around one hour by nightfall, but this did not dampen the event spirits. In this video, shots were taken at:
