Trump’s tariffs could lead to ‘turbulent period of economic change’: Analyst

United States President Donald Trump’s blanket 25 per cent tariffs on Canada and Mexico kicked in on Tuesday (Mar 4), while levies on Chinese imports doubled to 20 per cent. Deborah Elms, head of trade policy at Hinrich Foundation, tells CNA’s Asia Now that Trump’s moves on the US’ three largest trading partners are bound to cause ripple effects across other markets.
