This is the only local stopping service for stations on the ECML between Drem and Edinburgh although ScotRail services to Dunbar stop at Musselburgh but not any other stations on this route. The class 385 operate as either 3 or 6 carriage services as 4 carriage first class fitted units only operate on the ScotRail express Edinburgh to Glasgow services.
