I was happy with managing to play and film 60 courses over 2024 but with a unseasonably mild and sunny November day forecast and a break from work, I hastily arranged a visit back to Forest Hills to try and give it a more traditional video.

I was rusty having not played for 6 weeks and the first hole caught me out again with a combination of bad play and some misfortune but with the weather being so nice, that was soon forgotten!

Forest Hills is a very nice undulating parkland course located close to the centre of Coleford in the Forest of Dean. It drains really well making it suitable for year round golf and the ground was in good condition for November, even if the greens had recently been treated. There is a nice flow to the course, even if there are a few climbs dotted around to get the lungs and legs working.

It's a course where accuracy helps, especially with many of the fairways being tree lined. No unfair holes here with the course generally allowing you to play what you see in front of you and greens that are of a good standard. (although they had been treated when I played!)

Overall it's a very enjoyable course, reasonably priced and friendly too. I'm really glad to have paid another visit here and put together a proper "CJ style" video! Maybe the next time I'm back I'll even play the first respectably!
