Faure’s Pièce Breves, Op.84, is a collection of short piano pieces. As a collaborative pianist, I am more familiar with his vocal repertoire than the piano repertoire. When I was working on these pieces, I heard distinctive vocal line throughout along with the ‘accompaniment”. Since I get to collaborate with such a talented musician as Jose Manuel Pietri-Coimbre, who is multi talented, there is no reason why we shouldn’t experiment!
