This is flight 17 of 28 from my recent trip to Europe. In May, I set out to fly to as many places in Europe as possible, while also flying on as many different airlines and aircraft types as possible. Over a 14 day period I flew on 19 airlines, 21 aircraft types, 30 total flights, all while covering over 31,000 miles. In the end I visited 14 different countries throughout the journey. Flight 17 Fun Fact – Norwegian Air Shuttle uses the tails of their aircraft to highlight influential and famous Norwegians. Gidsken Jakobsen, featured on this aircraft's tail, was a Norwegian aviation pioneer. At the age of 20, Jakobsen became only the second Norwegian woman to be awarded a pilot's license having achieved the highest position of the ten students attending the course. She was also one of the first Norwegians to establish commercial aviation in Norway, setting up her own airline in 1932 named Nord-Norges Aero operating Junkers F 13's, which also made her the first female head of a Scandinavian airline.
