A cover of "Human By Name" from the video game Metaphor: ReFantazio.
I finished Metaphor late 2024 and loved it so much! Definitely a must play for RPG fans, especially if you like Atlus games, and the music is great!
This is probably my favourite track from the game, it's very dramatic and unsettling thanks to the use of dissonance throughout the piece, and the use of chromatic notes in the chorus. The intro being in 5/4 was also another really cool thing in the original piece!
In terms of my approach to this arrangement, I had a pretty simple idea I want to do, playing through the whole piece, with an added acoustic section and solo. I also tried to explore something different with the acoustic section, with the snare playing a triplet pattern even though the rest of the music is playing a straight rhythm. So it might sound a bit weird, but I think it adds an interesting feel there!
