Every evening at sunset, the towns and cities along the Ganga river and its tributaries perform an Aarti ceremony. Some of them are simple prayers with a handful of priests and people, but some of them are choreographed spectacles. One such spectacle happens at Triveni Ghat at Rishikesh in Uttarakhand.
The tourists are also offered an opportunity to participate in the Ganga Aarti after the main Aarti by the priests.
