Some divers are brave, even in the most dangerous caves. One of them was an experienced French cave explorer. He went to map an underground cave in south-central France. Everything was fine until he got trapped by a rockfall with no way out.

Dragonnière de Labastide is a cave located in the Ardèche and Drôme departments of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in south-central France. Ardèche and Drôme are the two southernmost departments in this region. The area is known for its rolling hills, low mountain ranges, and deep canyons. It has an almost Mediterranean climate and vegetation, making it a unique and beautiful place. The Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region itself is large and situated in southeastern France. It attracts many kinds of visitors. Mountaineers come for the challenging climbs, while winter sports enthusiasts enjoy the region's ski resorts. The cave is located 295 ft (90 m) directly below ground level and is only a few meters wide. While the area above the cave is beautiful, the conditions below are extremely dangerous. The cave is inhabited only by tiny shrimp due to its extreme environment. Most divers avoid this cave because of its poor visibility and the risk of it becoming silted out, making it difficult to see. Even though there are air pockets in the cave, the air in these pockets is mostly bad and not safe to breathe.
