African Swine Fever Herd Plan

Dr. Ross Free was our speaker for this webinar on the African swine fever (ASF) herd plan. The webinar familiarized ASF Exercise personnel with a draft herd plan template that could be implemented for use in the September ASF functional exercises, or in the event of an ASF detection on a farm in the United States. The webinar will provide a brief introduction to herd plans in general and their usefulness with or without indemnity requests. The webinar also provided a section-by-section overview of the draft ASF herd plan template to familiarize ASF Exercise players with the necessary steps on an ASF-infected farm to move from depopulation to eventual re-stocking. Finally, the webinar welcomed feedback from interested parties on improving the herd plan template and making the template as effective and feasible as possible.
