Search for the Mysterious Monolith of Las Vegas - Epic Adventure!

In June 2024, a mysterious "monolith" type structure was discovered deep in the Sheep Mountains outside Las Vegas, NV not far from where Kenny Veach disappeared. Nobody knows how this object got there or who put it there or why. The Las Vegas Metro PD had quickly airlifted it to an "undisclosed" location but I wanted to find out more so I set out on an epic and challenging expedition to hike to the location where it had been.

I found that the mountains were extremely steep and dangerous, so much that the monolith location was inaccessible. I pushed my body to it's absolute limits and I even ran out of water in the brutal 107° degree summer heat by the time I got back to my truck. I consider myself lucky to be able to tell the story.

About the Mysterious Monoliths:
The origins of these structures vary; some monoliths were made by artists inspired by news coverage of the original Utah pillar; others were made by local businesses for promotional purposes. However, many of these monoliths mysteriously appeared and disappeared all over the world without any explanation.

Despite the word monolith referring to a single great stone, these sculptures were mostly made from metal, and the name derives from the Monolith that appeared in the 1968 science fiction film, 2001: A Space Odyssey. This connection gave rise to speculation about an extraterrestrial origin, although the phenomenon has also been viewed as a craze or an Internet hoax, with a number of features in common with crop circles.
