Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey appears to double down on chaos as he reacts to President Trump’s potential deployment of active-duty troops to Minneapolis amid ongoing unrest tied to ICE enforcement operations.
During a CNN interview with Jake Tapper, Frey claimed the federal presence is “intimidation” and suggested the violence would stop only if ICE leaves the city — a statement many are calling a shocking admission.
Meanwhile, roughly 1,500 active-duty troops have reportedly been placed on standby, as President Trump considers invoking the Insurrection Act to protect federal agents and restore order.
Trump warned:
“If the corrupt politicians of Minnesota don’t obey the law and stop the professional agitators and insurrectionists… I will institute the Insurrection Act.”
Frey went on to claim he’s being investigated simply for “having a different opinion,” comparing federal oversight to authoritarian regimes.
