BIRCOM - Zero Fee Network for Tracking Paragliding Pilots Flying in Bir-Billing.

Bir-Billing is among the world's top 10 paragliding sites, renowned for its ideal conditions along the Himalayan range for achieving personal distance milestones such as 50km, 100km, or more. Paragliding enthusiasts from around the globe flock to this site to push their boundaries.
The 100km-wide ridge, stretching from Dharamshala in the east to Mandi in the west, has limited mobile network coverage, and services like Spot and InReach are illegal in India. To address this, BIRCOM has implemented a legal LoRa technology mesh network to track pilots’ positions which can be of great help in providing emergency assistance during unplanned landings.
