◽️Curiosities
The Duomo di Milano spans 158 meters in length and can hold more than 40,000 people. It’s the largest church in Italy (since St. Peter’s Basilica is technically in Vatican City) and the third-largest in Europe.

The golden statue of the Madonnina, installed in 1774, sits atop the cathedral’s tallest spire and has become a spiritual guardian of the city. Milan’s skyline regulations even required that no building rise higher than the Madonnina—until a replica was later placed atop the Unicredit Tower to preserve tradition.

The cathedral features over 55 stained glass windows, including some dating back to the 15th century. Each one tells a different biblical story, flooding the vast interior with soft colored light. Whether for history, faith, or architecture, the Duomo remains Milan’s most visited site.
