Rep. JC Abalos, House committee on ethics and privileges chairperson, speaks on the possible ethics complaint against Congressman Richard Gomez for hitting Philippine Fencing Association president Rene Gacuma during the recent SEA Games.
“Hindi kinukunsinti ng House of Representatives ang anumang karahasan o pananakit sa kapwa dahil hindi ito sumasalamin sa pamantayan natin sa ating mga miyembro,” Abalos said.
Gacuma earlier said Gomez punched him on the nape, cussed and threatened him and grabbed his jaw after the PFA's decision to replace Philippine fencing team member fencer Alexa Larrazabal.
Gacuma, who had just undergone a bypass procedure and is on a pacemaker, said his blood pressure shot up during the incident.
