Over the past couple of weeks I've had the opportunity to test and use the new Thypoch Simera-C lenses, in their M version.

This is a selection of test footage in various scenarios.
I focused on what I would normally shoot with lenses like these.
I filmed both outdoors and indoors, in overcast and sunset light but also in harsh daylight.
I also got lucky with a snowfall so I made sure to capture that too.

And I also decided to film my wife and son making decorations or exploring outside to test out the lens in a documentary style situation.

This was filmed on gimbal, handheld and on sticks.

I think they pair very well with this sensor and they really remind of the Helios 44-2 but in a more modern version, from the character and look but also from the size and overall feel.

Keep in mind that some of these shots were done in a way to test the lenses. I wouldn’t point the camera at the sun this way on actual shoots but I wanted to test flares and contrast.

Lenses used: 28, 35 and 50.
Shot on the Blackmagic PYXIS and BMCC6K, Open Gate.
