Robert Hebb (1938–2010) was an American R&B and soul singer, songwriter, musician, recording and performing artist, best known for his 1966 hit "Sunny".
Hebb, born to blind parents, performed with his brother Harold from the age of three. On the day after President Kennedy's assassination in 1963, Hebb's brother was stabbed to death outside a Nashville nightclub, and deeply affected by both events, Hebb wrote the song "Sunny."
"All my intentions were to think of happier times and pay tribute to my brother, basically looking for a brighter day."
This song is one of the most recorded songs with hundreds of versions released.
After a recording gap of 35 years, Hebb recorded "That's All I Wanna Know" his first commercial release since Love Games for Epic Records in 1970.
Hebb was an active resident of Cresskill, New Jersey. He continued to live in his hometown of Nashville, Tennessee, until his death from lung cancer, at the age of 72.
