The machine arrived a week ago, but the thread came in the mail today, so I tried it out. Super happy with it. It's a Juki industrial walking foot sewing machine. I did not get the long arm machine, because there close to ten grand! I think this will be fine, for what I plan on using it for.
Got a vintage moulded plywood chair, that has a spring and cushion seat and backrest. Super comfortable, but looks cool. It needed some frame work, so the chair is getting a full restoration. May even make a vintage looking pattern into it, using leather on the walking foot machine. I might do videos on doing it... if I ever get to it!
Next is stitching vinyl to the carpet edge, that are the trunk mats, in the Bel Air. I will do a video on that.
Then down the road, I want to reupholster the seats back to factory original in the Bel Air. They need it, as the padding is the original, as it is getting uncomfortable. I want to put the door panel back to factory original too. If I ever get to that, I will do videos on that job too.
Now I will be able to do the complete restoration myself on a vintage car... other than machine work on a engine, if I end up needing to rebuild one, or chrome plating if needed. I just really enjoying doing ALL the work myself... it's relaxing to me. I would rather be in the garage, fooling with something, than watching the stupid crap thats on TV!!!
