Aïta Mon Amour is an exciting musical project led by artist Widad Mjama in collaboration with Khalil Hentati (EPI). This creation stands out for its sincere tribute to the Chikhates, the Moroccan and feminist singers and dancers who have kept alive the age-old tradition of the 'Aïta' (cry in Arabic). They fought against oppression and injustice.
Inspired by the poetry and essence of words, Aïta Mon Amour wants to preserve and resound this Moroccan art in a contemporary and digital way. She does this by mixing electronic sounds with traditional string instruments such as the ud, violin and outar. Aïta Mon Amour is a strong and moving tribute to generations of women.
