Grand Theft Auto V (GTA V) is a sprawling open-world action-adventure game developed by Rockstar North. Set in the fictional state of San Andreas, which is based on Southern California, players can freely roam a large and diverse landscape that includes the bustling city of Los Santos (inspired by Los Angeles) and the surrounding countryside, including Blaine County.

The single-player story revolves around three distinct protagonists:

Michael De Santa: A retired bank robber living under witness protection with his dysfunctional family. He yearns for his past life of crime and gets drawn back into it.
Franklin Clinton: A young street hustler looking for opportunities to move up in the criminal underworld of Los Santos.
Trevor Philips: A psychopathic and unpredictable former associate of Michael, who runs a drug dealing and gunrunning business in Blaine County.
Their stories intertwine as they navigate a web of dangerous heists, corrupt government agencies, and powerful criminals. Players can switch between these three characters at almost any time outside of missions, each with their own unique skills and storylines.

Gameplay:

Open World Exploration: Players can freely explore the expansive map of San Andreas using various modes of transportation, including cars, motorcycles, boats, helicopters, and airplanes.
Missions and Heists: The main storyline progresses through completing missions, many of which involve elaborate heists that require careful planning and execution. Some missions are played with a single character, while others involve coordinating the actions of two or all three protagonists.
Combat: Players engage in combat using melee attacks, a wide array of firearms, and explosives. The game features an auto-aim system and a cover mechanic to assist in gunfights.
Wanted System: Committing crimes will attract the attention of law enforcement, with the intensity of their response increasing based on the "wanted" level, indicated by stars on the HUD. Evading the police requires losing their line of sight and remaining hidden for a period.
Character Skills: Each of the three protagonists has a set of eight skills (such as driving, shooting, and strength) that can be improved through gameplay. They also have a unique "special" ability: Michael can enter bullet time during combat, Franklin can slow down time while driving, and Trevor can deal more damage and take less during fights.
Side Activities: Beyond the main missions, players can participate in a wide range of side activities, including races, stunt jumps, property acquisition, running businesses, playing sports (tennis, golf), and interacting with the diverse inhabitants of San Andreas.
