You are the on-call FY1 doctor. A 15-year-od girl comes in via the ambulance at 11pm. She is conscious and says she fell down some stairs. She is now bleeding profusely and requires an urgent blood transfusion. As she is being taken into theatre, her mother arrives and demands that you do not go ahead with the blood transfusion. How would you respond to this situation?
