Zoo Photography Hack – The Best Time to Capture Wildlife

Join me and my fellow artist as we take a road trip to the zoo in search of the perfect reference photos! Our main goal? Capturing the adorable 3-month-old lion cubs—if we’re lucky enough to see them! With limited viewing times and long queues, we weren’t sure if we’d get the chance, but patience paid off, and we got some amazing shots.

In this vlog, I’ll share our strategy for making the most of a zoo visit as wildlife artists & photographers — how we prioritise animals for reference, when the best times to photograph them are, and why late afternoons can be a goldmine for capturing natural behaviour.
