Kelly Joe Phelps, my tribute, June 2022

In this video I reflect on the sad loss of Kelly Joe Phelps in May of 2022.
Kelly Joe was a huge influence on me as you will have seen from some of the videos on this channel. My brother and I were lucky enough to see him live 6 times, and they were all very memorable gigs. We even used to go out and play as 'Mr Zen' in a duo format some years back!
KJP is absolutely the reason I picked up the finger style approach to acoustic guitar playing and lap slide, and for that I am eternally grateful to him.
His legacy will be long lasting and well thought of. Rightly so.
He has left the world a better place for the music and memories he leaves behind.
