How do I decide what rate to charge as a freelance ELT/ESL teacher?

One of the things I get asked about most often is how much someone should be charging as an online freelance ELT or ESL (or MFL) teacher or coach. What’s the right hourly rate? Should you be charging an hourly rate (usually no, in my opinion)

What rate to charge is far from a simple question to answer, because it depends on a number of factors.

In this video I’m going to talk you through the factors you should consider, to help you in determining your own pricing strategy, and in earning a rate that truly reflects your skills and experience.

One of the things I don’t like about ELT is the way that so many excellent professionals are underpaid, undervalued and scraping by.
