Here’s a video showing our trip across the English Channel, from Jersey to Salcombe.
The continuous furling line for our Facnor furler, used with our Code 0, jammed in the housing and tangled. The blood on the sails came from a skinned knuckle while making a repair. I had to wrestle the line back into place so that the sail could be furled. After that Carolyn and I lowered the Code 0’s halyard enough to allow us to pull the furler’s tack line loose. Once it was on deck we set it all up correctly again. All of this while sailing slowly in the wrong direction! It’s a testament to the Code 0 that we were able to catch up to Idril.
