In this episode, Alex sits down with Dr. Vijay, a leading **General and Interventional Cardiologist with over 25 years’ experience in angiography, angioplasty, and pacemaker implantation.

Based on the Gold Coast, Dr. Vijay works across public and private hospitals as part of the GC Heart Centre, and is the founder of the GC Clinical Cardiology Meetings, now running for 25 years as one of the region’s key education forums in cardiovascular medicine.

His work extends beyond Australia, Dr. Vijay helped establish the South Pacific’s first tertiary cardiac unit and cath lab in Suva, Fiji, where he still travels three to four times a year to perform procedures and train local doctors. What began as a rheumatic heart disease screening program has grown into a full interventional service saving thousands of lives.

Now, he’s collaborating with international partners to help Samoa establish its own cath lab, continuing his mission to expand life-saving cardiac care across the Pacific.
