Timothy Ferguson, a 15-year-old with special needs, died in July 2022 after suffering unimaginable torture and abuse. He was 15 and weighed just 69 pounds. Two family members have been convicted in his death, but questions remain. MLive/Muskegon Chronicle spent months sifting through thousands of documents, police reports and social services records to see how holes in the child welfare system and the failures of Timothy's parents let this happen.
