For the first time in Bhubaneswar, a baby was born through water birthing at Ankura Hospital. Water birth involves delivering in a tub of warm water, which can provide pain relief and a greater sense of control for mothers.

This water birth at Ankura Hospital was managed by Dr. Leena Das. The mother, who desired her husband’s presence and preferred a natural water birth, chose our facility for this unique experience. Ankura is the only hospital in Bhubaneswar offering this option.

Throughout her pregnancy, she engaged in exercises with support from our physiotherapy team. During labor, she received massages to enhance her comfort. Our pediatric team was also ready to care for the baby immediately after birth. The couple is extremely pleased with their experience at Ankura Hospital, appreciating the exceptional care and support they received. Her husband was particularly happy to be actively involved in the process, and they both consider it a wonderful memory.
