Friday, 16 March 2018: Ameena Saiyid at the Gwadar Literature Festival, spoke to Pakistan Television about her support of the Gwadar Literature Festival. The interviewer asked her that the Karachi Literature Festival journey, "caravan" has been spreading and has reached Gwadar. Will it continue in the coming years?
Ameena Saiyid replied that yes certainly, we have always wanted the Karachi Literature Festival to become a movement, a "tehrik" that spreads across Pakistan. I'm extremely happy that this is indeed happening as evidenced in Islamabad, Lahore, Faisalabad, Hyderabad, and Gwadar. I want these literature festivals to spread all across Pakistan so that people can indulge in, and further develop, their love of books. Nasir Sahib and RCDC have done a great job with the Gwadar Literature Festival and we will support them every year.
Ameena Saiyid said that the Baloch people have a great diversity of excellent writers and poets, and that many books and novels are being written here currently too. She said that the tremendous turnout of people of all ages at this Gwadar Literature Festival (including at the OUP book stall) was evidence of how great an interest Baloch people take in books, literature, and reading,
