Precision loading for a 223 AR-15 with:
53 grain vmax and N133 powder.
Starline 556 brass (new)
W41 primers.
In this video, I am using a new powder lot that has a slightly slower burn rate than the original pound of N133. I need to increase the powder weight by at least 0.5 grains to achieve the same velocity and have loaded three different charge weights to test impact on target, accuracy, velocity and look for pressure signs on brass.
The OAL is 2.255" to minimize powder compression. powder compression can cause irregular bullet seating depths, which can adversely affect accuracy and precision, and it can crease the bullet and over stress the seating stem on the bullet seating die.
