About Puerto de Ventana from San Martin:
The ride to Puerto de Ventana is both beautiful, stunning and diverse. You start in San Martin from where you work your way up the mountain. The first 4 kilometers/ 2.5 miles has a nice gentle slope and works perfectly as a warm-up. After 6,5 kilometers / 4 miles you ride through a stunning gorge. The gorge rises like big towers around you. To get out of the gorge you have to go through a tunnel. After the tunnel, you have a small difficult segment with a maximum slope of 11 percent. From here the slope is very steady around 7-8 percent. On the last segment of the ride, you have unobstructed views of the mountains. The mountains are full of yellow flowers at this time of year. Puerto de Ventana itself is a beautiful mountain pass and has been used many times by the Vuelta. This ride can work as the continuation of our ride along Senda del Oso. If you prefer an easier ride to Puerto de Ventana, you can try our ride 'Puerto de Ventana from Piedrafita de Babia'. Due to changing weather conditions, the ride was filmed over two days.

Adding music to the ride:
Most cyclists would agree that the ride to Col du Tourmalet is awesome. But when it comes to music opinions are very mixed. This is why we do not add music to our rides. We simply do not want to spoil your ride with music you do not like. But it is quite simple to add it yourself. Open an extra browser tab. Find a site that offers music (Spotify, YouTube, etc…) and pick the music you like and enjoy the ride...
