Car Fleeing Police Slams Into Building

On Friday, January 10, 2025, at 1:43 a.m., firefighters with Riverside Fire Department responded to the Thompson Coolegate Law building located at 3610, 14th street for a crash into the building. When fire fighters arrived at the scene, they found one car in the structure and the driver trapped. Firefighters were able to extricate the driver who was transported to a local area hospital, suffering from unknown, but non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash was a result of a hit & run traffic collision near University Avenue and Orange Street. Riverside Police Department responded to that initial crash, as they arrived, the driver took off southbound on Orange Street at a high speed. Officers couldn’t keep up and lost sight of the car. While searching the area, they found the vehicle in front of 3610 14th Street, where it had crashed into the building.
The vehicle shattered several of the large panel windows in the front of the building, but the cement columns kept the car from totally entering the structure. At this time, alcohol does appear to be a factor in the incident.
