Alchemy - Mystical Bellydance Transmutations was a Fusion Bellydance show in Helsinki on 14th of December 2024, produced by Studio Bastet. It was organized as a part of - and as a celebration of - the graduation from Studio Bastet Teacher Training program.
First part of the alchemical transmutation - the theme of the show - was NIGREDO. Death, decay, loss of identity, the black fertile earth that holds the potential of rebirth and new life.
A guest star at our show, Philosophia Dance Group from Tallinn, Estonia, is formed and led by Sophi. In their performance they channel naginis, half-human and half-snake creatures who defend the underworld and confer prosperity and fertility in ancient hindu mythology.
