Watch me get dirty and fix our P0128 code for under $10.
Our beloved Chevy Astro's engine light came on after we overheated in Sept. 2022. We used the FIXD wireless OBD2 scanner and free app to read a P0128 code. The FIXD app also lists possible causes:
P0128 means there is an issue with your car's coolant thermostat temperature being below the regulating temperature. Most engines should reach temperatures above 160º F within 15 minutes of the engine starting. A faulty thermostat is a common cause of an engine not getting to operating temp. So, the most common fix for P0128 is to replace your thermostat.
