Tamiya WR-01 Blackfoot III 4x4 (Wild Dagger/Dual Hunter) Drive Shaft Issue ... and Quick Fix!

Finally got to examine the issue I had with my Tamiya Blackfoot III 4WD Monster Truck RC Car (Tamiya Wild Dagger Conversion) ... Luckily it was just one of the usual WR-01 problems!

Really just a lot of unplanned random waffling while I work on a Tamiya. But I managed to cut away half of the waffling (!) and I thought there might be a little chance of somebody owning a Tamiya WR-01 and new to the hobby - getting some use out of all this. Well, anything goes on this channel.

The issue:
With full steering (no EPA or Dual Rate adjustments), and with just a single o-ring in the outdrives/diff cups, the stock drive shafts/dogbones of the WR-01 are a bit on the short side, and can start to wear down/round off the cups of the wheel shaft (and make the dogbone either bind or pop out).

Quick solution:
Insert another o-ring in the outdrive (a total of 2 o-rings in the outdrive and 1 in the wheel shaft) and turn down the EPA or D/R on your transmitter.

More permanent solution:
Replace with longer drive shafts or universal axles (suggestions welcomed in the comment section). A little EPA or D/R adjustment could still be needed.

I am just glad it wasn't the diff. I think my inspection out in the field went wrong due to poor lighting and due to the fact that the dogbone seated itself back again when starting to inspect it. Wheels where turning fine when inspecting it - there was seemingly nothing wrong - which too quickly led me to suspect it was something with the diffs/gears. So a lesson I learned (again): Take your time inspecting the issue out in the field. Don't rush it.

Sorry about the continuing audio issues. Still recording with the build-in microphone of the iPhone 11. As some of you probably know it requires a special adapter or special microphone - and without my old microphones have bent rendered useless.
