Story of Lilian: From Sales Pressure to Finding Purpose at Providend

“In the past, I kept asking myself: Is this what I want to do? I realised the work went against my values, and that’s when I knew I needed a change.”

Growing up in Malaysia as the middle child in a family of five siblings, Lilian learned resilience, responsibility, and empathy from a young age.

Lilian started her career in banking, where the fast-paced, KPI-driven culture left little room for teamwork or integrity. Despite the rewards of hitting targets, she often faced pressure to push products that weren’t right for clients.

That turning point led her to Providend, where she began as a Client Service Manager at 27. From day one, she felt the difference: a culture of authenticity, integrity, and care. Today, as Providend's Head of Investment Operations, she continues to embody those values, building processes that put clients first and supporting a culture where people can truly grow.
