Pertronix Electrical Ignition Upgrade - Onan 15.0 JC Genset

This video shows a quick test to my Onan 15.0 JC genset after upgrading the mechanical ignition system to a Pertronix electronic ignition system as well as some pictures at the end of the video showing the steps involved. It was an easy upgrade and seems to work great BUT there are several SERIOUS QUALITY ISSUES with their kit for the upgrade. The electronic ignition kit part number is 1545. The quality issues I had was the wire insulation was badly cut on both the red and black wires near the electronic module. I order 2 kits thinking one was bad, but both had wire insulation issues. I scanned the internet and seen several other 1545 kits with the same issue. I called Pertronix to discuss what I found. Believe it or not, I was told that it was normal. I disagree! It is a quality issue. I seriously believe their quality and engineering team needs to address the issue. The second problem was the electronic module was INCORRECTLY mounted to the metal base. It was off by 180 degrees. I had to drill out the rivets and remount the electronic module correctly to the metal base. You will see this in the pictures at the end of the video.
