This video was put together from a rockhounding trip I made to the Dillon, Montana area looking for piles of mine tailings that might have colorful rocks. This area is known for past mining operations of all different minerals and has many abandoned mines. Several of the abandoned mines are located on BLM land. The area where this video was filmed had piles and piles of tailings left behind. Most of the minerals mined in this area were copper, silver, gold, lead and nickel. Dillon, Montana is also known for a couple cool Ghost towns such as the old Bannock Mining town. This was a super fun area to go rockhounding and I had quite a nice time!
I found lots of colorful rocks on this trip. Rocks full of colorful minerals were scattered around! The patterns on some of my finds are so gorgeous and so different from many of my other rockhounding trips. This is Part 2 of my trip.

If you have any guesses as to what some of these rocks may be, please comment and let me and others know!
Thanks for watching! #thefinders #montanaminerals #minetailings
