Welcome to Tuesday Tutorials and Tips,
Today's video features a fun project using perforated paper and elastic to make a pretty bookmark. There was a little bump or two in the making of the project, as I ran out of stitchery tape and had to eek out the last bit of Aleene's glue while filming, but I think the bookmark came out cute.
Supplies Needed:
Perforated paper: 14 count or 18 count
Stitchery Tape or Aleene's Tacky Glue
Floss or Perle Cotton
Needle for cross-stitch
Backing: Wool Felt or Scrapbook paper
5/8" Fold-Over Elastic - I used Dritz
Sharp Paper Scissors
The pattern I used was by Sekas & Co, but I was unable to source it although there are several retail shops that carry their patterns for sale. If you ever received the Finishing Touch Newsletters (a shop in Louisville, KY that is no longer in business), the design was published in the February 1998 edition.
The 18 count perforated paper is a Mill Hill product.
I hope you will enjoy making these bookmarks. Thank you for joining me today. Feel free to reach out to me at the email listed below for any questions.
