The Battle of Tunisia (November 1942 – May 1943) was the final campaign of North Africa during World War Two. The campaign had intense fighting between Allied and Axis forces using infantry, tanks, and artillery. The Axis forces were commanded by General Erwin Rommel and General Hans-Jürgen von Arnim; while the Allies were led by British General Bernard Montgomery and U.S. General Dwight D. Eisenhower.
After Rommel's defeat at the Second Battle of El Alamein, the Afrika Korps were on the retreat to set up a foothold in Tunisia. American landings in Morocco and Algeria (Operation Torch) threatened to trap the Afrika Korps between Montgomery's 8th Army. As the Axis Powers retreated further back to Tunis, they became undersupplied and increasingly outnumbered. On May 13, 1943, the remaining 250,000 Axis troops in Tunisia surrendered, marking the end of the campaign and the total Allied victory in North Africa.
This is a Lego WW2 stop motion film aiming to represent some of the fighting that occurred during this North African campaign.
