“318 flyovers, rail connectivity…” Ashwini Vaishnaw highlights major infra projects in Maharashtra

Ahead of the Maharashtra Polls, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on November 15 highlighted major infra projects in Maharashtra. The Union Minister said, “Maharashtra is a very important state. It (Mumbai) is the financial capital of the country. Govt of India has taken several initiatives for infrastructure here. State Govt has extended help and did a good execution. If you talk about Railways, in Railways alone, Rs 1,64,000 of total investment is being done in Maharashtra. Around 6000 km of new projects are being undertaken, 132 stations are being redeveloped, 318 flyovers and underpasses are being constructed, 156 km stretch of bullet train and 178 km of freight corridor come under Maharashtra. With Jalna, Jalgaon and Ajanta recent rail connectivity, Marathwada region will get port connectivity. With Manmad-Indore (railway line) Dhule and northern Maharashtra will get port connectivity.”
