CELEBRATING THE LIFE OF THE LATE PHILIP MUTISO MAKAU - 25/3/2023

BIRTH
The late Philip Mutiso Makau was born on 12th June 1940 in Kasaini village,Kivutini sub-location,Mutituni location to the late Elijah Makau Kaseke and the late Beatrice Loko Makau.
He was a brother to the Late John Musau,Rhoda Syokau,the Late Andrew Maingi,David Makau, the Late Reginah Ndinda,Paulina Ndunge & Francis Kingola. He was a step brother to usyoka, Mbinya, Thenya,Ndila,Mthue,Muthoki,Kaseke,Nzombe,Mukumbu and Kanini.

EDUCATION & CAREER
The late Philip Mutiso Makau started his primary education in Ngelani Primary School. He later joined Mumbuni Primary School where he sat for his KAPE exams, thereafter he proceeded to St.Valentine Secondary School in Mombasa for his 0-Level education. The late Philip Mutiso Makau later joined Nairobi University to pursue advanced business studies where he acquired his advanced Diploma.
The late Philip Mutiso Makau started his carrier as a District Officer in Masii. He later quit the government service and joined Marshalls East Africa Limited based in Nairobi Office, where he worked for 26 years until 1985. He resigned from Marshalls East Africa Limited to start his own private business. He was the dealer for Kenol/Kobil (Machakos) and Distributor for Nation Newspapers.
He also embarked on large scale farming and had interests in the hospitality industry where he operated several restaurants. In 2012 he quit the franchise business (Kenol/Kobil) to set up his own Petrol Station at Mutituni Market, which he operated until his demise.

FAMILY
The late Philip Mutiso Makau was married to Agnes Nzilani Mutiso in 1971 until his demise.Together they were blessed with children namely; Joan Mbithe, Ancent Mutua, James Makau, the late Duncan Kaseke, Christopher Mutune, Betty Loko Wanyama and Robert Muinde. He was a grandfather to Winnie,Ryan,Alex,Deisha,Abby,Gabby,Ivy,Khloe,Kayla,Declan and Allan.
He was the father in law John Kennedy Wanyama, Naomi Muinde,Florence Mutune and Faith Nzioki.

CHRISTIAN LIFE
ILLNESS & DEATH
The late Philip Mutiso Makau was a devout Christian and fellowshipped at the Africa Inland Church.
He always put God first in all his daily undertakings and plans. Philip Mutiso Makau started his Christian
life in Ngelani AIC and later became a member of AIC Kyanda, where he fellowshipped until his
demise.
The late Philip Mutiso Makau began ailing in the year 2014 and has been attending hospital checkups
and clinics under the watch of both his Physician, Dr. Wafula and his Cardiologist, Dr Nyamu.
On 15th March 2023 the late Philip Mutiso woke up feeling unwell and traveled to Nairobi for consultation
with his physician Dr. Wafula. After a routine check-up, Dr.Wafula requested him to schedule
a review appointment with Dr. Nyamu for further examination.
On Friday 17th March, 2023 the late Phillip woke up with a jovial attitude and shared jokes with his
wife and workers at his home before proceeding to travel to Nairobi to for review appointment with
Dr. Nyamu. On arrival at Dr. Nyamu’s clinic, the late Philip registered himself with the reception
attendees and waited to see the Doctor.

During the review, the late Philip exchanged pleasantries with Dr. Nyamu, he even lay himself on the
examination bed and unbuttoned his shirt as instructed by the Doctor. While Dr. Nyamu reached for his stethoscope to commence review, he realized that the late Philip had closed his eyes and rested peacefully. Dr. Nyamu then commenced resuscitation procedure with the assistance of his medical team for a period of one hour with no luck.
The late Philip rested peacefully at 2.30PM.
